This letter is hand written and signed by

in the year of
1906
( Most likely, Emmet's brother and business partner, Bennett but, not sure ) .
The letter is addressed to ZACK SMITH of Bonham, Texas. Mr. Smith loaned Emmet Cox a bunch of $$$ and now that Emmet has paid off his debt (with only his honor as security), Emmet is expressing his deep gratitude to his true friend.
Approximate size is
11" X 8 1/2".
CONDITION:
This one is in way better condition than the other one that I sold which had a giant chuck missing from the left side. I don't have any more of this.
The "EBAY ITEM" thing is just a loose piece of paper that is not attached to the letterhead. Letterhead has normal letter folds, very clear toning throughout the front side but, not much toning on back, very slight bug damage on top right edge and the general area of the top right corner too (visible in the scan), top edge is lightly reinforced on the back but, still in good condition for a letter as historical as this one. Like most of these old letterheads, it's very fragile and it's very old.
SOLD AS IS.

TES:
The Cox Store was first established at the old Comanche-Kiowa Indian Agency, about two miles south of Fort Sill, in 1899. Edward Emmet Cox (1852-) handled financial affairs for Burk Burnett and Tom Waggoner (as they leased grasslands from the Comanches), paying for their leases and the salaries of their cow hands.
In 1899, Cox entered into a partnership with his brother, Bennett,
after securing an Indian trader's license, and built his store at the sub-agency. In 1906, he and his brother dissolved their partnership
and Emmett built a country store in the southwest corner of the allotment of his daughter (he married Quanah Parker's oldest daughter,
Nah-mak-uh).
Cynthia Ann (Parker) Cox was Emmet E. Cox's second wife.
Mrs. Cynthia
Ann Cox, 74, well-known Comanche Indian woman and daughter of Chief
Quanah Parker, died at 11:24 a.m. Saturday in a local hospital after several
months' illness with a heart ailment.
