Eskimo Artifact--Polar Bear Head Mounted on a Seal Oosik Bone Handle.
Carved walrus ivory polar bear head connected to the oosik bone.
3rd quarter 19th century.
Possibly used as a drumstick.
It measures 8 1/4" long.
Beautiful detail in the simplicity of this artifact.
